One run was the difference at Pro Player Stadium as the Lewisville Fire Ants
defeated the floundering Burbank Tigers 3 to 2.
Lewisville tallied 2 runs in the top of the 5th inning. David Ortiz got
things going when he hit a bases-empty home run (his 14th of the season).
Two outs later Ty Wigginton stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.
Shannon Stewart then tripled scoring the final run of the inning. Lewisville
had only 5 hits for the game.
The winning pitcher was Ryan Drese(4-5) who allowed no runs in 7 innings. Chad
Cordero got the save, his 10th. Scott Elarton(0-4) ended up with the loss.
He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk in 5
innings.
